Win a hand-made replica of Emma Giesy's Aurora quilt!

Emma Wagner Giesy was the only woman sent west in 1853 with her husband and nine other men to find a new site for their Utopian Christian community that moved to the Northwest. Sadly, Christian Giesy, Emma’s husband, drowned in 1857, leaving her with two small children and pregnant with a third. She quilted her husband’s initials into the 81”x 77” quilt she made
A replica of Emma Wagner Giesy’s Running Squares pieced quilt will be produced and quilted by volunteers of the Aurora Colony Museum and the Aurora Quilters, a long-time quilting group, many of whose members are descendants of the original colonists.
